Help with Ares searching shared folders?

Why does Ares always search for shared folders everytime i close then program and re-open it. As soon as i close it..then open it again and go to My Library to look for the songs it automatically starts to scan. How can i configure it so that it doesnt search for everything on my computer and just whatever is on Ares????
