What are some well written enlightening books?

I am looking for thought provoking powerful books that "opens your eyes" to the world around you or pulls the wool from your eyes. Not necessary a propaganda or conspiracy book but a book that uses facts,personal experiences and case studies that shows the authors point s/he is trying to get across. Doesn't have to be about strictly about politics either.
