Christians: Why is it necessary that...?

God is emotional rather than not (e.g. the Deist idea of God)? What necessity is there that God comforts us, strengthens us, etc.? Sure I agree that those are all good things to have i.e. comfort, protection, etc. but are they 'necessary' for us to survive? Is it not our choice to be in a bad mood or feel insecure? Also, is there any logical reasons for a God to be emotional? (the only one I could think of is that we are, by nature, emotional. But these could simply be from a lack of knowledge or due to the fact that we are part of space and time and hence restricted to them.) Sorry that there's so many questions, just wanted to provoke some thoughts and hear your opinions! :D
